Looks to me like this happens because segments are being created with wrong extents. e.g. Start Rosegarden, click once to create a single-bar segment in bar 2, then go to Composition -> Edit Document Properties... -> Segment Summary and you'll see that the new segment starts at 3839, duration 3802. It should start at 3840, duration 3840.

Right!

Another one: Double click doesn't work on segments starting at the non-zero position if zoom factor is other that 100%.
