I haven't paid that much attention to the details, but I think the only canvas changes in STG are superficial things like the reworked segment labels. I've had both STG and 1.0, then HEAD and 1.0 running side by side before, and STG and 1.0 are fraternal twins, if not identical. (I'm not sure if there's any other way to get two of them running at the same time or not. Using a distro 1.0 which has been renamed rosegarden4 gets around KUniqueApplication.
