I've unpacked arts source, and there is no artsmidi.h.
Looking at mine, i found at first line :

It possible that artsmidi.h would be create just building arts, i don't
know exactly.
What are the requirements for rosegareden? I have arts, qt and kdelibs.
Anything more?
Eventually kdemultimedia for some music players, also timidity as second
softsynth, but normally not really required.
