So, my official recommendation to anyone with Rosegarden printing problems is to suck it up, take a crowbar to your wallet, and buy a real PostScript printer if everything else fails.
I have had printing problems while printing to pdf/ps file. The outcome is not at all looking the same what it looks on the screen. I have done all my printing at work or at school, so I need to print to file first. For long time, I just used gimp to take a screenshot of my notation pages and save it as jpeg and printed those. Recently I found out that the best looking pdf/ps is produced when note size is the biggest but still it's far away from the jpegs that have really nice antialiased notes and text.
The notes look just great on the screen, but getting them to paper with the same quality is really hard for me.
