If you're sitting in gui/ or wherever, and you want to rebuild from there, 
rather than moving back down to rosegarden/

That used to be the case here, which was yet another reason for the totally 
clean tree.  After the virgin checkout, I got the behavior I described 
previously.

I think the delay went away.  Well, maybe not.  I'd say it's about two seconds 
on the lirc_init line.  It's less than it used to be.
