I read it, but I can't really say I thought about it. /dev/sequencer is an OSS device. I don't know what /dev/seq is. Maybe you mean /dev/snd/seq. I suppose we'd need to find out whether it's hanging in an ALSA system call (presumably snd_seq_open called at sound/AlsaDriver.cpp:1597) or whether we've screwed up our recovery from the failure of a call and somehow end up in a deadlock somewhere else in an RT thread. I dunno. This and the startup wizard thread, and so on, are just reminding me of how hopeless this whole situation can appear sometimes.
