Hello,
I'm a newbie here and would like to say thanks to the developers for a
great program. It would however be much more useful for me if some
improvements were made to the control event/ruler interface. What I am
refering to is basically the following feature requests:

Has anybody done any work on this? I'm willing to try to spend some time
on it, although it may take me a while to get up to speed. I'm a long
time Linux fanatic but unfortunately I write Windows code for my job and
have rarely had the energy after work to do any serious Linux development.
I've checked out the source but have only done some initial browsing
around. If anybody has any hints or starting points it would be appreciated.
