It is unfinished, and I have very little free time now to work on it. Two main
things are still pending:
- To detect when the GUI has been cancelled (or crashed) to enable the quit
action of the tray icon's context menu.
- Show the audio I/O activity with a pair of simulated LEDs, like the ones
used for the MIDI I/O. Should take into account the silence, when there is an
audio signal but has a constant value?

It is needed also to think about the consequences of enabling this feature:
- It provides a GUI to the rosegardensequencer program. So it is needed to
enable an additional translation process for it.
- It is an intrusive change, quite large in code lines compared to the little
new functionality provided, over a very stable part of the code. I fear that
it may create some new problems. Is it worth the risk?

The script po/messages.sh that takes care of extracting messages from the C++
sources and other files needs to be adapted to the new directory layout after
the reorganisation. The script should be checked, validated and finally used
to produce a new rosegarden.pot and merge it with the existing translations.
After that, announce the string freeze and notify the translators.

Regards,
Pedro
