He was trying to compile Rosegarden 1.4.0 on Suse 9.1, which had KDE 3.2 The enumeration value 'NoDefault' in KDialogBase was introduced in KDE 3.3 So, the README document is wrong. You need at least KDE 3.3 to compile Rosegarden. There may be other constructs requiring a newer KDE version; I don't know. I don't have anything older than KDE 3.4 in my machines.
