btw if you know a really nice way to edit the DocBook files, please say so. I generally end up editing the XML directly in XEmacs. I've tried Quanta as well, but I found its attempts at helpfulness a bit irritating without really being enough to be helpful, and then I gave up the first time it locked up on me. To test the DocBook file, first just run "make", since that does the XML validation step. You can view the results in the KDE help viewer (you may need to copy to a global location, e.g. /usr/share/doc/kde/HTML/en/rosegarden/index.docbook), or you can convert to HTML by running scripts/make-html-handbook.sh. The handbook is very incomplete, but don't let the absence of documentation for other features similar to the one you're intending to document put you off documenting it!
