I all,

I'd like to share my little interraction with Rosegarden since three
years. I think it could be very interesting for developers. This kind of
things should go to the wiki page probably.

Since three years, I'd like to definively let Cubase down to adopt
Rosegarden. I'd love to be able to only use free software daily. I tried
to do adopt it two years ago, but some little functionality where
cruelly missing. I posted three features requests :

1581889 : One cursor instead of two !
1581941 : Horizontally constrained selection move in matrix editor
1581851 : Option to disable auto-quantize after recording !

Today, two years after, I've passed many hours using Rosegarden. I
also gave music courses to many musicians who wanted to do scores and
midi editing. They are not hackers, but they all well know using a
computer, and for many of them, they're using Gnome. But, all of them
there in trouble with this, and I couldn't answered to the question :
«Why two cursors ??».

In fact, I used many audio and video editors :
Cubase, Nuendo, Vegas Video, Sound Forge, Acid, Avid, Final cut ...
And all of them only have one cursor. I understood that some people,
in certain cases uses it. But why not adding an option to be able to
only have one cursor ?

Cursor is such an important thing !

I don't want to do the bug request again here. I unfortunately havn't
time to dive into code and submit patches, and I won't do it unless you
agree with me.
So I suggest putting my experience and my proposition into wiki, which
is better than bug requests for the possibility of adding images schemas
(good way to expose things when talking about GUI).

Hope that this idea will be profitable for everyone.

regards,
Bruno Duyé
