There is MusicXML, but that's problematic too.  Mainstream RG has no
MusicXML import.  We do have support for it in a Subversion branch
(the branch is called "musicxml", funnily enough), written by Arnout.

It works for certain scores, but it really needs major restructuring
before it will work for everything, and so we never properly resolved
whether to merge it as it stands, or try to avoid getting people using
something that was known to be so fundamentally incomplete.  Given
that it hasn't been worked on for about a year, perhaps it would be
more use to merge it as-is and put a disclaimer in the documentation
than to just sit on it for any longer.
