My computer has been on the blink for a few months now, and the problems are
getting worse day by day. I had 270 days of uptime, then a kernel panic,
then 90 days, then a kernel panic. Now I'm getting kernel panics daily, and
I really have no idea if there's anything I can do about the hardware.

The days when I could fix things like this are long behind me. I've really
gotten that driven home after spending three hours assembling the parts to my
new computer. I hadn't installed a motherboard in a chassis in nearly 10
years, but I saved $75 putting it all together myself.

I'm getting ready to fire it up and start moving in. I have no idea how it's
going to go, or how long it will be before I am through piddling around with
moving and ready to get back to work.

I'll make a bigger and more formal announcement later, but I'd like to go
ahead and thank the people who have been contributing to this project lately,
because without your contributions I would have been stuck trying to develop
Rosegarden on a PII-233. I would not have had the money for this, and I
would have had to just scrape by with whatever second hand junk I could
scrounge up.

Hopefully I'll be back up in short order, and can get back to work. I expect
it might take two or three days before I've got everything sorted though.
