Sounds reasonable to me. > I'm thinking of drawing a scale at either end of the ruler in light grey so > it's unobtrusive but at least tells the user what they're drawing. And since you didn't know all of these rulers are supposed to be available from the notation editor too, you might not realize it's supposed to be possible to have more than one ruler at a time too. I think they used to go into some kind of tab widget. Indeed, I'm pretty sure of it, and even if there was just one tab, the tab's label was how the ruler was labeled. Probably pretty trivial to implement, and you might know all this. > That needs fixing. Overlapped text looks terrible. Indeed. Damn if I know quite what to suggest for a solution though. > I think I'll code a custom translation for each different control. > Shouldn't be a huge job. Famous last words my friend. :D Can anybody confirm that 0 for "no bend" and a representation as a signed int is the normal and expected thing for pitch bend in real world use? I feel pretty sure of it, but only pretty sure. I think pitch bend is the truly odd one in this regard anyway. Everything else follows a more typical pattern. -- D.
