Tom:

Thanks for the quick answer.

That was what I originally tried, but it generates something like the
following:

(Name "2GMGS E-mu  Rev N")
(SoundFont 2 1)
(SamplePos 174 1832794)
(InfoPos 24 130)
(Presets 328 (
 (0 "Piano 1" (preset 0) (bank 0) (
  (layer
   (initialFilterFc -1768 2 Hz)
   (delayLfo1 10154 352545 msec)
   (freqLfo1 -1198 4092 mHz)
   (instrument 0 "Piano 1"))
  ))
 (1 "Piano 2" (preset 1) (bank 0) (
  (layer
   (freqLfo1 -1476 3485 mHz)
   (instrument 1 "Piano 2"))
  ))
 (2 "Piano 3" (preset 2) (bank 0) (
  (layer
   (initAtten 41 41 cB)
   (decayEnv1 -7354 14 msec)
   (decayEnv2 -1162 511 msec)
   (instrument 2 "Piano 3"))

This is a very different format than the text I originally got from some
utility program, months ago.

I didn't see any options in the man-page for sf2text that appeared to
control its output format.

I am wondering if the reason I can't find the utility program is because
the program has been changed to do something different.
