Of course the really stupid part about this potential change is that simply
by having RG available on github or bitbucket in a 'modern' DVCS is that it
will undoubtedly (probably) draw the attention of more developers.  The
perception will be that RG is on the move and those developers who like to
do stuff for the kudos of having their name on something might well be
attracted to that.  Whether that's a good thing or not is another debate
but there you go..

Also timing-wise RG might be quite attractive too - C++ will see a spike a
popularity with devs on the back of Microsoft's decision to throw their
weight behind it.  This also has knock on effects.

No, I don't think a move is necessary of course at all - but the
possibility of keeping RG appeareance current from a dev perspective might
be a persuasive one.

OTOH, it might not.  I see plenty of people here still adding important
contributions with the current tools so perhaps just best left.  The
experiment with the 'new' Wordpress rosegarden site really didn't come to
fruition so perhaps indeed changing VCS would be a bridge too far.
