Strange. Might be based on some other sequencer? So hit space to enable record, then Return to begin? I wonder what Audacity, Hydrogen, and Ardour do. (Not to mention commercial apps like Cakewalk and Cubase.) Might be a real good idea to mimic them. Then their users could more easily start using rg. I guess that's what user configurable key mapping is all about. Is the key mapping user configurable in rg? Maybe that's the real solution. Then offer a set of familiar key mappings for users of other software. Sounds like good UI design to me.
