The current modifier scheme is arguably broken. I do not want to replace one broken scheme with a different broken scheme. Toward that end, I sought to back up and have a formal design discussion before going forward with any changes. I feel like this was perfectly reasonable. The control scheme is a major aspect of everyday function; changing it affects all users, and creates differences in behavior from one version of Rosegarden to the next. It is not chiseled in stone, and it is not sacred, but we should not change it without establishing that the new scheme is better than the old. The way to establish something like this is through an organized and methodical process, not by throwing something at the wall to see if it sticks. I am saddened by your reaction. I enjoyed your presence here, and feel you were a great asset to the project. 15.10 is pretty much the Tito Latini release, and you will be remembered. -- D.
