This issue was not in 20.12.

It was introduced by the 3 following lines at the beginning
of NoteRestInserter::stow() in NoteRestInserter.cpp:

    // This method is called if a segment has vanished. Clear
    // m_clickStaff in case it is no longer valid
    m_clickStaff = nullptr;

I presume these lines are fixing some bug and that just removing them
is not the solution.

I can't reproduce this one.
I have no problem running several RG instances with or without the
"start Jack" box checked.
