The old SLOT() and SIGNAL() are *really* dangerous. I've been burned

I will be making some changes to get rid of these warnings.
One thing that cppcheck complains about is with the old style connect -
cppcheck says the slot method is unused. I think we should move to the
new style connect with the method pointer.
One problem here is the FileActionClient where the connect is delegated
to the FileActionClient class. I had to ask Google Gemini how this can
be done - and got a good answer !!!
