Believe it or not there are a few issues here to untangle. Hardware (Roland TD-6KV): We need to know what your hardware capabilities are. I've taken the liberty to review the .pdf of this device (TD-6V appears to be the module of concern). It appears that the MIDI out for your triggers are all locked into one channel (channel 10 factory default). If the device could send each pad to a different channel, that would make it immediately more useful in Rosegarden. So let's work with what we have: * TD-6V with MIDI out out channel 10 * Some MIDI interface to your computer * Rosegarden Getting separation: * Record one track on Rosegarden (all data recorded to one segment). * Select the segment. * Select Segment -> Split -> Split by Pitch... * Adjust dialog to get the desired split * Repeat split for each voice. * Move each segment to a new track. Now you need to determine your sound generators capabilities: Addictive Drums (dssi-vst). I took the libery to look up the user manual .pdf. There seems to be a select by MIDI channel option. But given all of AD's capabilities (from my superficial review of the manual). Each track that has drums: * Select the track * Rename the track with the correct label * Set the Tracks Playback parameters to point to AD * Use AD vst to controller playback levels of each kit part (track). ... But Rosegarden will not will not split by pitch on the fly. If you put another app in the mix between your MIDI interface and Rosegarden or something like http://www.cowlark.com/amidimap/ you could remap the incomming from your external device to different channels. Then you could: * Create one track for each track on your kit * Set the Track Parameter record filter to the corresponding MIDI channel (based on your remapping). * Arm all tracks to record * Record ... I hope these suggestions help. Sincerely, Julie S.
