Hello all:

I've been in Linux for only two years now, and very new to Rosegarden. (This
is my first post.) It is a great package with a feature set that is amazing.
My heartfelt thanks to all those who have contributed to it.

I have a couple of questions about the guitar chord feature:

1. I've looked, but not found, any way to place the chord name (ie., Bb7sus)
of the chord symbol above the chord (as in typical sheet music). Did I miss
this?

2. I have difficulty aligning the chord above the actual note in the
notation window. Sometimes it wants to position itself quite a ways to the
right of where I try to position it; sometimes it appears to overlay another
chord symbol. When I examine the event list, it is listed at the correct
point in time (ie., with the note at which I intended to place it), it just
doesn't end up being positioned at that point.

On the text feature: I've only been able to enter text immediately below a
staff. Is this the only position available?

I am a software developer (beginning in C in '83 and C++ in '91), but have
not written anything for/on Linux. (It was all for the "other" OS. Sorry.)
Perhaps, as I gain experience in Linux development I can enhance the guitar
chord feature if the questions I have above are features that simply don't
exist yet.

Thanks.

Dave
