They are not long.  That's why they are all looped. ;-)

I go for a lush sound (except in the bebop big band score), 
so Timidity's default patches won't do.  Use Fluidsynth and 
the fluid-gm soundfont for playback; that's what the composer 
intended.

Aaawww.  Well, I'm scratching my own itch here.  I'd like a forum where I can 
receive and provide advice about composing and musical notation, with 
Rosegarden. 
Hopefully, I can _create_ some interest. :-)
