I compile the same way Holger does. Over the years I've found if Rosegarden compiles but fails to link, then something on the system packages side of things is broken, such as an incomplete or corrupt installation of the Qt libraries. How to go about resolving that situation on Gentoo is beyond my experience, and I'm afraid I can be of no assistance. -- D.
