The window size is fixed, because everything inside the window has a
fixed size. The LED display is done with fixed size raster graphics,
the icons on all the buttons are fixed size raster graphics, etc.

Anything is possible with enough work, but the change you would like to
see would require a very considerable amount of work.

It would be far more practical to offer the functionality you want some
other way.

I'm open to suggestions. I sometimes have trouble improvising myself.
I miss the changes. Showing me the measure number in some big window
wouldn't help nearly as much as some "Key change coming up in 3... 2...
1..." kind of thing. Now we're talking about a handy feature! Sort of
like the chord name ruler, but with a look-ahead feature, and everything
drawn in huge text in a gigantic window you can see from half a room away.

Or maybe the composer/teacher could put warnings in manually, as markers
or something, and this feature could display them on the screen.

I haven't really thought about this. It seems like there is something
cool and helpful Rosegarden could do, yes. Scaling up the transport
dialog is an evil solution though. Too much work for a not very
satisfactory result under the best circumstances.

Mind you, I'm presently working 80 hours a week, and even if we come up
with a fantastic idea, I can offer no estimate of when I might get such
a thing done.

The more fantastic the idea, the more likely I am to find a way to carve
out some time though.
