I seem to have identified this while using Rosegarden to send test CCs to Yoshimi.
Open a new Rosegarden document and display the matrix editor. Create an empty track segment (I just right click on a track). Using the event editor create a new controller and fill in any values. Keep changing these including time, without saving, and after 5 or 6 changes Rosegarden exits!
