Both the stable and the latest development versions compile just fine here
(Debian 12 64bit).
Try "sudo apt-get build-dep rosegarden" to get all the dependencies.

Thanks, I did that step and it only pulled in one missing library.
I think I mentioned in an earlier email that it traced back to having a
mix of stable and deb-multimedia in the repositories. Removing the
deb-multimedia repository and reinstalling the stable equivalents (where
stable had them) made the difference.
