The server is doing a lot of other things beside hosting the routing service. Also the Gazetteer (Namefinder) service has it's ups and downs...
For a world-wide route service the server has quite modest specs: virtual machine having 2 cores from a Quadcore Xeon, 2 GB RAM and 60 GB storage on a SAN of which about 6 GB is used by the routing database. There's just no comparison with Google or even openrouteservice.org... _______________________________________________ Routing mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/routing
