I just wanted to let you know that in the process of implementing TMC-support for Traveling Salesman (http://travelingsales.sourceforge.net) I just wrote a tool to * take a TMC LocationCodeList and * output an OSM-file with all the points as nodes and all the segments as ways. I'm planning to extend it later to output the names Roads of the LCL too.
These ways are of cause NOT TO BE IMPORTED into OSM. I am loading them and OSM in 2 separate layers in JOSM to find out how an algorithm would need to look that * given OSM and an LCL automatically finds a mapping of what TMC-LocationCode refers to what ways/nodes in OSM. This will be needed to give routing- and navigation - application in OSM the ability to work with TMC-messages containing current road-obstructions, traffic jams and similar messages and change their metrics acordingly. Did anyone already experiment with TMC in the context of OSM?
