Hi there,

More than a week ago, I have published a note about my level map proposal on
the tagging list.

The proposal is about mapping of OSM objects (such as ways) that are stacked
exactly on top of each other (footways through multi-storey buildings needing
multiple rounds through a stair case, multi-storey parking lots with outside
connections at different levels, lifts, etc.), in a way that is easy to map
with existing software and at the same time acceptable for existing 2D map
renderers as well as routers.

I have tried to get all information into it that is needed for routing,
including elevator buttons to press and other interesting staff and that the
scheme works even for complex structures.

As I have written the proposal in particular with routing in mind and I seem to
have not received any feedback from people writing routing software (or
translators, such as mkgmap), I would like to know your opinion on it. In
particular, how hard it would be to make your software making use of it.

Thanks,

Marl
