The spec uses HTTP/1.0 - my understanding is that if a client uses HTTP/1.1
and the server does not understand/support HTTP/1.1 then it should fall back
to HTTP/1.0 features. If so then I don't think that the mods to the client
should break interoperability.

I'm by no means an HTTP expert. If anybody can pick holes in the above I'd
be most grateful for the correction.
