I'm still having problems with file permissions, despite running and mounting as root, I can't write to smb/cifs (on my linux router/fileserver in the garage)shares as I seem not to be root. despite having username = root in the config file. The rpcemu directory is in the /home/brian directory. For some reason, the shares I mount under /media also appear under /home/brian/Desktop when I use them under Emufs. Could this be where permissions get changed resulting in being unable to write to the share. I've tried getting round this by changing user under windows/VRPC to brian but seem unable to have different users for the router/fileserver under windows. This is the reason I want to use the share as root with Ubuntu/RPCEMU.
