I've noticed similar results with RPCEmu v0.8.6 (Spoon), RO4.39, on an
HP laptop, running Vista on an Intel Core2 Duo 1.60Ghz processor.

The following times (from a timer built into the database) relate to a
29MB DataPower file:

   Hardware SARPC RPCEmu hp550 laptop
   Software DP2.26 DP2.26 DP2.19 Reader
   Task
   Compile indexes, secs 129 69 2
   Update database, secs 260 118 5

RPCEmu is 87% - 120% faster than the SARPC. In both cases the DP file
and !Scrap are in RAM, to avoid disc read/write access.

As to be expected, the DPReader, which runs without emulation, is very
much faster than either the SARPC or RPCEmu.
