I thought there was a bit of the rpcemu site that explained how to come up with some diagnostics so that others may help, but I can't find it at the moment. Instead of double-clicking from a GUI, which probably results in feedback going into ~/.xsession-errors, open a terminal, cd to the directory containing the rpcemu executable, and run "./rpcemu".
