An easy one: http://www.marutan.net/rpcemu/linuxcompile.html This Ubunty 10.04 instructions work - except that the download is at LanMan98::Ubuntu.$.home.user.Downloads.rpcemu-0/8/8/tar/gz The instructions expect it to be at LanMan98::Ubuntu.$.home.user.rpcemu-0/8/8/tar/gz A suggested place to park it would be ??? It can either be parked there before extraction - or after. I eventually ran it by clicking on it in Ubuntu's filer (which I don't like, compared to RISC OS!) - but the best way possibly (if it cannot be linked into Ubuntu's Applications) is a link on the desktop to /wherever/rpcemu-0/8/8/.rpcemu I have done that. Now I need to put a !Boot somewhere. The instructions say you need to do that - but not how! I understand that the file LanMan98::Ubuntu.$.home.user.Downloads.rpcemu-0/8/8.hd4/hdf will become a disc image. But how? In the install instructions there is a good section on getting Rom images - but getting a !Boot installed is just as important! No instructions! Am I unusual in wanting to do as much of this as possible from the Risc OS computer over the network? Surely most people installing it will already have a Risc OS 'puter and will be networked! LanMan98::Ubuntu.$.home.user.Downloads.rpcemu-0/8/8.hostfs is a directory accessible from both sides. But I do not understand its relationship to LanMan98::Ubuntu.$.home.user.Downloads.rpcemu-0/8/8.hd4/hdf -- Richard Torrens. http://www.Torrens.org.uk for genealogy, natural history, wild food, walks, cats and more! _______________________________________________ Rpcemu mailing list [email protected] http://www.riscos.info/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rpcemu
