I installed a new copy of RPCEmu and then copied the cmos.ram and rpc.cfg files to the folder containing the 6.20 files. On starting RPCEmu, the familiar RISC OS logo appeared, but the boot stopped, with an error message about incompatible fonts. *unplug on that screen showed that, as in your installaion, FontManager was unplugged. RMReinit fixed that and, on re-starting RPCEmu, the boot completed into the desktop. Brilliant! I haven't gone far in configuring the new installation but all seems to be working as expected - one minor reservation is that setting memory to 256MB causes the mouse pointer to disappear. However 128MB is fine. Before we forget the way we came, one of us needs to write a step-by- step installation guide. Will that be you, or me? Gerald, congratulations on solving this apparently intractible problem, and many thanks for your encouragement.
