Sadly, I know of one case that does this in both Ubuntu and Fedora, only 
because I'm the maintainer of the Fedora package. It has "hand-crafted" elf 
libs for ~6 different architectures that's always built exactly the same for 
all arches for its test suite. Why it needs to test this is beyond me, but it 
does.

(In case you're interested in this piece of horror, it's the `mir-test-tools` 
package).
