Sure, nobody's disputing that. The question is, why should rpm care, beyond its
own needs? If we step across that line, then where do we draw it? We just threw
out a whole pile of macros that were placing somebody elses problems on our
road, and that's exactly what's lurking right behind the corner if we start
adding things like this for users convenience without some clear rule to follow.
