Thanks for all the help
I finally got it working. I originally installed R from the RPM, but that
didn't have cairo setup, and so I downloaded the source code, and manually
installed it, and realized that pkg-config wasn't finding cairo, hince the
reason why the rpm wasn't using it. Aparently even though I had cairo and
cairo-devel installed there was another dependance that I hadn't installed.
Once I got that one installed, I had no trouble having everything find
cairo, and therefore I was able to install R, and now the graphs work
without a hitch.
Now my next goal is to figure out how best to create a graph with several
series of plots, boy is that going to be fun. lol
