I am not certain to follow your reasoning, and to demonstrate by the example I just opened a quartz interactive device, and made plots in it, with the following install: - OS X Leopard - Python 2.6 (from MacPorts) - R 2.10 (from CRAN, that's a Framework build) - rpy2 (compiled from source)
