To minimize communication regarding failing unittests, I just uploaded a 
2.1beta2 to SF (it will also be on bitbucket as soon as its 
instabilities encountered since this morning stop). Not a clean sheet 
yet, but that should be ~2-3 failing unit-tests.

I also fixed a PROTECT / UNPROTECT unbalance.
