I would certainly leave the API change for version 2.0
Maybe it is a time to start keeping two "branches" open for a while. My
suggestion is:
1.3.- Stable, only minor features added
2.0.- New API, and (possibly) new architecture / techniques
- new API, reworked core
- mmaped I/O whenever possible
- rrdtool "accelerator" (daemon) included
- backend "plugins" ??? (needs MUCH thought)
As usual, any thoughts/suggestions are most welcome.
