how about trying to make the color the same as the background, for the grid
and fonts and axes and whatever else you need to hide,
it might work !

Subject: [rrd-users] Turning off grids

Okay, I'm trying to generate thumbnail images. I've given up on
turning off all the extra cruft that rrd puts around the outside
of the graph (things like title, the border, the labels, etc.) and
am now just using ImageMagick to cut out the area of the graph (at
least the extra cruft stays constant).

To make these thumbnails, though, I need to turn off all axes.
Does anyone know of an option to do this? There doesn't seem to
be one outside of figuring out a label formula that doesn't graph
any labels (which I haven't attempted yet).

Thanks in advance,
Philip
