Correction:
 
I  wrote ( among other things ) :

"And be sure that gcc is in your PATH,
( before /usr/ucb, where cc is )."

It is not necessary that gcc is in a directory
that comes before /usr/ucb in the PATH. It is
enough if its in the PATH.
