But in a meantime if I would like to compromise speed and call RRD twice (to get MAX value[s] over some period, and then automagically normalize all variables building proper CDEF with some scaling factor) what method would you suggest to 'fetch' those MAX values? What method would be the fastest one? This is not possible in the current version of rrdtool. If you're not afraid of beta software please have a look at the developers release of rrdtool.
