Well, in UNIX, each process runs as a specific user on the system. In windows NT it is similar to an extent.
My guess is that you do not have (read/write) access to the file when it is accessed over a share. Try writing another program (CGI) that access the file over the share. It is possible that the guest acount on the server needs to be enables, or broader permissions need to be established. This is just a guess, but so is most Windows administration. You can watch the activity on a share from the server, maybe check that to see which user is trying to access the rrd file. torleiv what you said > > Sorry about the error.
