Hey Alex, Well ... I am a bit further. I think I had something wrong with the heartbeat and stuff ..
I wrote a script that will update every 280 seconds. Seems to work. But when I make crontab to run the script every 4 minutes ... The prob starts. No data in the .rrd file. When I run the script by hand, with a sleep of 280 seconds .. It works. Beats me whats wrong when I run in in the crontab .. All dir's are oke .. Script is running from everywhere on the box :) JT -----Original Message----- From: Alex van den Bogaerdt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, February 05, 2002 12:26 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: [rrd-users] Starting problems Jeroen Timmer wrote: > I read the tutorial that Alex wrote (nicely done btw.) This said it is obvious that you need at least two updates. Also, these updates should not be further apart than the heartbeat value and they should include one complete normalized interval. > Whats that piece with unknown_sec btw. ?? Look into normalization, interpolation et cetera. For now, just accept that RRDtool needs this value to do its job. cheers, -- __________________________________________________________________ / [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] \ | work private | | My employer is capable of speaking therefore I speak only for myself | +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Technical questions sent directly to me will be nuked.
