Yes, you can install rrdtool on the second host and do a log2rrd <logfile> each tim you want to graph. It takes some time though.
Why not convert your existing mrtg logging to rrdtool and use the standard 14all.cgi / mrtg-rrd.cgi script to do the logging. That way you're working with rrdfiles anyway. If it's little trouble to place the rrd's on a network drive, you can do different queries on the rrd databases from the other host.
