Rrdtool does a great job of capacity planning. Is anyone enhancing it by using linear or curve fitting trends by dumping values from rrd databases? Basically, I was wondering if anyone is doing trend analysis or saturation levels by dumping data out of rrd databases and then graphing, plotting, or reporting in other tools, preferably using perl, ie gd::graph, dbd::chart. This seems like an easier solution than complicated analysis through aberrant behavior. Holt-Winters Forecasting seems excessively complicated and not suited for long-term trending. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Fun venturing, Rob
