Altered example DEF to fit on one line: DEF:u=/path/<RRD::CV::QUOTE share>.rrd:size:AVERAGE > The problem seems to be in the DEF line. When share == 'Co Totals' I get the > error message: [ERROR: unknown function 'T']. Things to try: "DEF:u=/path/<RRD::CV::QUOTE share>.rrd:size:AVERAGE" DEF:u="/path/<RRD::CV::QUOTE share>.rrd":size:AVERAGE Alter the variable "share" to say "part1%20part2" in stead of "part1 part2" HTH Alex Alex, no go, I'm afraid. The space between "rrd" and ":size" seems to have been introduced by a mail-client (mine probably - I'm at work and so using Outlook). I've tried the two varieties of quoting and they made no difference :-( My script was already encoding "Co Totals" as "Co+Totals" so I tweaked it to use %20 (better practice anyway) but it still makes no difference. thanks again for your suggestions.
